Birchbark Launch

The put-in at first light, with the canoe going back on flat water and mist still coming off the lake. This is the world Portage leaves open to everybody on the front page, and its free round gathers speed the way a loaded canoe does.

About this world

Birchbark Launch

Birchbark Launch is the world kept unlocked for everybody, so the canoe is already afloat when the front page loads. The pace sits in the middle: small returns arrive often enough to keep the paddle moving, while the louder moments wait for the bonus. The Paddle Crest wild stands in for every picture apart from the Brass Compass. Three compasses anywhere open Getting Way On with ten free spins, the multiplier stepping up across the opening four before holding at four times for the rest. Four compasses bring fifteen spins, five bring twenty-two, and any landing mid-round add more.

Getting Way On. Through the free round every win is multiplied by two, two, three, three and then four for each spin after that, and the speed never drops back before the round ends.

The honest part

Coins only, always

Everything here is played with free virtual coins. There is no real-money gambling, nothing you win has real-world value, and there are no in-app purchases. Results come from a random number generator; past spins never affect the next one.

Measured by running this page's own engine for 5,000,000 spins: coin RTP 98.0%, hit frequency 33.2%, free spins about once in 134 spins, a win of 10x your stake or more about once in 111 spins. Coin figures only — no money is staked or returned.

How to play

Birchbark Launch in three steps

1

Open the front page. Birchbark Launch is already running there with coins counted out, and nothing is asked of you before the first spin.

2

Choose a stake and spin. The Paddle Crest wild completes a line for every picture apart from the Brass Compass.

3

Three compasses open Getting Way On: ten free spins worth two, two, three, three and then four times for the remainder.

Who it suits

Anyone arriving for the first time, and anyone who would rather feel how these reels behave before filling in a form. The rhythm is moderate and the bonus genuinely gathers speed.

What to expect

Small returns on paid spins at a comfortable rate. The heavier multipliers belong to the back half of Getting Way On, which is where most visits reach their peak.

Questions

About Birchbark Launch

No, none at all. It is open to everyone on the front page, with no name, email address or password asked for; only the carry and the camp want a free account.

They do. Portage tips whatever the open world left in the purse onto the 100,000 coins that come with every new account.

They can. Three or more mid-round add further spins, and the climb carries on from where it had reached rather than starting again.
